JEANNE LARSON

Licensed Professional Counselor

Greetings! I am Jeanne Larson and over the past 5 years, I have worked with clients who have difficulties with self-image and confidence, assisted with relationship issues (including difficulties with navigating boundaries), and helped clients to improve their communication skills with success. Everyone has anxieties, but too many can be managed, there are several techniques to choose from. We learn to manage anger issues and identify their triggering sources, through exploration of various levels of trauma. We worked with mindfulness and grounding skills for clients who are “just feeling lost.” Assisted with family systems and working out the imbalances with great results. I believe in providing “How to skills” so you feel more confident with whatever life throws at you. My primary concerns are based on, “Where do you want to go? What do you want your relationships to look like? What are your personal goals for your future? How do you see yourself? How would you like to see yourself? What triggers keeps tripping you up? What skills do you want to acquire?” We work collaboratively to design your goals and outcomes; “No one size fits all!”. Today’s society is throwing many curveballs, and I can help you manage them, or even hit them out of the park. I look forward to working with you and am grateful for these opportunities.

MANUEL VICENTE

Licensed Professional Counselor

I have been a teacher and coach for over 30 years. at five high schools in Texas. Born and raised in Ft. Worth where I still reside. I love my job! The relationships I have built with fellow coaches and students/athletes have been the lifeblood of my tenure. Teaching and motivating is the most fulfilling aspect of my job, and to be able to do on a daily basis is what I have always desired. Completing the CMHC program has allowed me to help others outside of education and work with them to heal and adjust through struggles they have encountered in their lives. Trust is the cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship, it must be nurtured and cultivated and never taken lightly. Clients that use my services will gain an advocate in their journey of self-awareness and growth. I believe that flexibility is an obvious disposition and characteristic trait that should be utilized in a multifaceted way. Such as for those who think differently, live differently, and do not look like me. There is a unifying tenet in counseling that is not present in other professions: we help develop cognition and change in individuals that change lives, and the world. In doing so, I believe that there is not only one way to serve clients. Theories and techniques should be utilized to satisfy the needs of the client. I practice Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, Person-Centered, and Rational Emotive Behavioral, Gestalt, Narrative, Play, Reality, Feminist, and Mindfulness theories and techniques with adults, children, couples, and families.

"My approach to counseling tends to be person-centered with aspects of CBT and solution-focused therapy incorporated into my sessions. During graduate school, I interned in a school system where I learned the therapeutic benefits of using play and art in session. This method tends to be helpful for individuals who struggle to verbalize their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I spend most of my time working with children and adolescents, but I have some experience working with adults in a group.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I graduated with a MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University. I have had experience in working with clients who have depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD/Trauma, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, domestic violent relationships, substance use disorders and life adjustment stressors. My goal as a counselor is to find a tailored approach to meeting each client's specific needs to help uncover their strength. The years of experience I have in the behavioral health field has helped shaped me to be non-judgmental. I use various treatment modalities such as EMDR,IFS, DBT, CBT, CPT, Functional Family Therapy, or motivational interviewing to address specific concerns or problems. I also use mindfulness to assist clients in reducing anxiety and Narrative Therapy to help clients define who they want to be on their own terms. I am bilingual and speak fluent Spanish. My life experiences have taken me to many countries around the world, giving me a wide perspective of cultural and social diversity. I engage every client with respect and compassion, with the conviction that the strengths and supports they already possess can be harnessed to drive their change process.

Your trust in me is greatly appreciated, and I look forward to our journey together.

I've lived and worked in Weatherford for almost twenty years. I loved my time as an elementary teacher and was inspired to work with local families as a counselor. I earned my Master's degree in counseling and am excited to dedicate my career to professional counseling. I enjoy getting to know people and celebrating what makes them unique- some of my favorite people are on the Autism Spectrum and/or have ADHD. When I’m not working, I love spending time with my (very large and blended) family (& pets), reading, and bargain-hunting. I live for road trips with my husband on his motorcycle; the fresh air is good for my soul. I've recently been interested in plants and hopefully, I can keep them all alive!
